Hoaglin has worked with animals for most of her life and has always aspired to become a veterinarian.
Her passion for exotic animal medicine was ignited when her family adopted cockatiels when she was younger.
Dr. Hoaglin's professional journey has been marked by a diverse range of experiences. She has worked in native fish conservation and research, and also served as a vet tech at a general practice in Arizona. Her pursuit of veterinary education led her to Oklahoma State University, where she graduated in May. During her time in vet school, she was actively involved with the parasitology and the zoo/exotics/wildlife clubs, and regularly volunteered for Operation Catnip Stillwater, a TNR clinic. Her clinical rotations at aquariums further broadened her horizons, sparking a keen interest in aquatic medicine due to her background in fisheries.
Dr. Hoaglin's areas of interest encompass preventative and general medicine for companion animals and exotics, behavior medicine, and client education to promote the well-being of pets. She is a proud owner of (very spoiled) adopted guinea pigs and enjoys hiking, kayaking, reading, and cross-stitching activities. Additionally, she is an avid Star Wars fan.
